Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity ("you"), and BU Salon and Spa, located at 132 - 65 Sage Hill Plaza NW, Calgary, Alberta, Canada ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"), concerning your access to and use of our services and facilities.

You agree that by booking an appointment, visiting our salon, using our services, or accessing our website, you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all of these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with all of these terms, then you are expressly prohibited from using our services and you must discontinue use immediately.

Services Offered

BU Salon and Spa provides professional beauty and wellness services including but not limited to:

• Hair cutting, styling, coloring, and chemical treatments
• Facial treatments and skincare services
• Massage therapy and body treatments
• Manicure and pedicure services
• Spa packages and wellness treatments
• Beauty consultations and product recommendations

All services are performed by licensed professionals in accordance with applicable health and safety regulations. Service descriptions, prices, and availability are subject to change without notice.

Appointment Policies

Booking and Confirmation

Appointments may be booked online through our website, by telephone, or in person. All appointments are subject to availability and confirmation by our staff. We reserve the right to refuse service or decline appointments at our sole discretion.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

We understand that sometimes schedule changes are necessary. To ensure the best service for all our clients, we have established the following policies:

• Cancellations or changes must be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment
• Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may result in a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the service cost
• No-shows will be charged the full cost of the scheduled service
• Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in a requirement for advance payment

Arrival and Late Arrivals

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Late arrivals may result in shortened service time or rescheduling of your appointment, depending on our schedule. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we reserve the right to consider it a no-show and apply our cancellation policy.

Payment Terms and Pricing

Payment Methods

We accept cash, credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), and debit cards. Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

Pricing and Packages

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars and are subject to applicable taxes. Prices are subject to change without notice. Package deals and promotional offers have specific terms and expiration dates that will be clearly communicated at the time of purchase.

Gift Certificates and Promotions

• Gift certificates are valid for one year from the date of purchase
• Gift certificates are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person
• Promotional offers cannot be combined with other discounts unless specifically stated
• Promotional pricing is subject to availability and may have blackout dates

Refund and Return Policy

Due to the personal nature of our services, refunds are generally not available once services have been completed. However, if you are unsatisfied with a service, please speak with management immediately so we can address your concerns and work toward a satisfactory resolution.

Health and Safety Requirements

Client Health Disclosures

For your safety and the safety of our staff, you must disclose any relevant health conditions, allergies, medications, or skin sensitivities before receiving services. Failure to disclose pertinent health information may result in adverse reactions and releases us from liability.

Contraindications

Certain health conditions may prevent us from providing specific services. We reserve the right to refuse or modify services based on health considerations, including but not limited to:

• Pregnancy (certain chemical treatments may be contraindicated)
• Active skin infections or contagious conditions
• Recent surgical procedures or healing wounds
• Severe allergies or chemical sensitivities
• Use of certain medications that may affect treatments

Sanitation and Cleanliness

We maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in accordance with provincial health regulations. All tools and equipment are properly sanitized between clients, and disposable items are used when appropriate.

Client Responsibilities and Conduct

Appropriate Behavior

We strive to maintain a peaceful, relaxing environment for all clients. Disruptive, inappropriate, or disrespectful behavior toward staff or other clients will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of services without refund.

Personal Belongings

BU Salon and Spa is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. Please secure valuables or leave them at home. Lockers may be available for your convenience during treatments.

Photography and Social Media

Occasionally, we may wish to photograph your results for portfolio or marketing purposes. Your explicit consent will always be obtained before any photos are taken or used. You may decline without any impact on your service.

Limitation of Liability

While we take every precaution to ensure your safety and satisfaction, beauty and wellness treatments carry inherent risks. By receiving our services, you acknowledge and accept these risks. Our liability is limited to the cost of the service provided.

BU Salon and Spa shall not be liable for:

1. Allergic reactions or adverse effects from products or treatments
2. Results that do not meet your expectations
3. Damage to hair, skin, or nails resulting from your failure to follow aftercare instructions
4. Complications arising from undisclosed health conditions or medications
5. Loss or damage to personal property

Intellectual Property Rights

The content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is owned by BU Salon and Spa and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

Privacy and Confidentiality

We respect your privacy and maintain strict confidentiality regarding your personal information and treatments received. Our privacy practices are outlined in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference.

Modification of Services

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time without notice. This includes changes to hours of operation, available treatments, pricing, and policies.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Calgary, Alberta, unless prohibited by local law.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced with a valid provision that most closely reflects the intent of the original.
